{oosterdam} on board in the kitchen
February 1, 2012
It’s amazing to think about all those appetizers, soups, main entrees, and desserts coming out of a kitchen located on board a ship. As part of a special event, we were given the opportunity to see what goes on behind the scenes in the Ms Oosterdam kitchen. It was fascinating although similar to what you may expect. It’s not like a huge cruise ship rocks all that much so it’s not like every tray in sight was bolted down or anything like that. In fact, the ship kitchen looked very similar to one you would find at a restaurant just a whole lot bigger. For example, just the coffee area was bigger than the size of my bedroom. It was also really neat to see all the pictures of the food on the walls and the instructions for the wait staff on what each dish should look like when they bring it out to the guests. All in all, an interesting adventure.
