{boston} mike’s is really famous

While Mike’s Pastry isn’t technically on the Freedom Trail (since it’s not at all historic), it’s definitely close by and more definitely worth a visit. Located in the North End, this famous landmark is home to amazing Italian cannolis and other desserts. This is one place I always go to when I’m in the area because I simply love their Ricotta-filled cannolis, which I know are probably heart-attack inducing, but still so delicious, I just can’t help it. At least I didn’t order the Lobster Tail cannoli, which is at least 8-inches worth of fried dough stuffed with flavored Ricotta cheese!

Did you know Michael Mercogliano, owner of Mike’s Pastry, died at the end of last year? How sad is that?!? But at least his legacy continues on, and I don’t just mean his delicious desserts. Mike’s Pastry is also known for being amazingly generous when it comes to supporting the community. So see? More than one reason to keep going back to this bakery!

Also read about our visit to Boston Common, Granary/King’s/Copp’s Hill Burying Grounds, the Boston Massacre Site, Faneuil Hall, and the Holocaust Memorial.
