{nyc} breakfast @ sanfords
February 15, 2013
Probably my favorite meal of the day is breakfast so I’m always sad when we go to a breakfast place and I don’t love the food, like at Alice’s Tea Cup. Sanfords Restaurant is not just a breakfast place, but we visited this upscale-kinda 24-hour diner in Astoria (Queens) for brunch with some people. It was a big crowd of people and, first of all, Sanfords does not handle large groups very well. I’m not talking about the service, but the space. Considering the very chilly weather outside and how close we were seated to the door, every time the door opened, we got a blast of cold air. They also didn’t have a table big enough to accommodate us so they added a table to the end of a booth, which just made for awkward seating. In the end, the food was alright, but nothing to rave about. I’m sad because I was so excited for the food and wanted to love everything so much, but didn’t. My friends seemed to enjoy their dishes more than I did though, so that’s good, I guess. So sad even though the food looked delicious.
A disappointing breakfast photo adventure:

sorry about all your subpar breakfast experiences!
