{nyc} chocolate by the bald man

Cho-co-late! Cho-co-late! Cho-co-late!

Walking into Max Brenner is like walking in an adult version of Willie Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Everything is chocolate, chocolate, chocolate! While in NYC, we visited New Years Eve night for some dessert before continuing our pre-midnight festivities. I had never been to Max Brenner before even though there is a location in Boston and various locations across the world. My sister, Annalice, had visited Max Brenner before and gave us some tips for what to and what not to order. Considering it was New Years Eve, we definitely wanted to try some of their unique liquid chocolate concoctions. Those turned out to be the best orders of the entire night. My Tiramisu drink was like chocolate heaven! The Chocolate Chunks Pizza and Crystal Sugars Churros Fondue were also very good though I much prefer the churros to the pizza. We ordered the pizza with crunchy hazelnut bits and roasted marshmallows. Annalice warned me that the pizza was just so-so and I would have to agree. The churro dipping sauces just made all the difference.

The only sad part about the entire chocolate visit is that we didn’t realize they had such an extensive dinner menu. We saw some of the entrees come out of the kitchen to the different tables around us and I personally would have liked to taste a number of bites on those plates!

When did this place open? I remember the last time that I was in NYC, three or four years ago, I was looking around aimlessly for a chocolate restaurant—a pastry shoppe or something that focused mostly on chocolate. I couldn’t find it. Good to know for the next time I’m in NYC!
