{phx} truckers eat a waffle house

June 5, 2012

I never knew this until I ate there for the first time, but apparently Waffle House is a trucker food stop. A couple of friends and I ate there one morning and were pleasantly surprised by how decent everything tasted (minus the burnt bacon). I especially liked the Texas biscuits even though I thought the gravy was just so-so. The service, though, was incredibly lacking. We couldn’t figure out if a great number of people had called in sick that morning or if everyone there was just incredibly lacking in experience or perhaps it was a combination of both. 😦

And you’ll have to excuse the yucky photos. I had left my camera at home that morning — gasp!
