{denver} hopdoddy burgers

April 18, 2015

One evening, we were around Denver’s Union Station so we decided to have dinner at the newly opened Hopdoddy Burger Bar. I didn’t realize it until now, but there are actually Hopdoddys all over the place including Texas and Arizona. Anyway, Hopdoddy is supposed to be the perfect place to get burgers and a beer. My sister and I didn’t buy any beer though so we shared a delicious Chocolate Stout Shake along with our fries and two burgers: Bison Bill and Primetime.

My one complaint about this place though is that its set up is really strange. When you walk in, it’s hard to know what to do. Do you walk up to the counter to order? Do you sit at the bar? Do you sit at the table? Once you figure out you’re supposed to go to the counter to order, you order and then are told to sit because then it becomes a full-service dining experience? What? Well, that’s all fine and daddy, but then the people must have been super bored that night or just over excited because we had wait staff walk up to us at least every five minutes asking if we needed anything, etc. At first it was OK, but then it got super annoying, so annoying in fact that if their goal was to make me want to leave faster, they accomplished their goal.

So many options

Strange seating

Bison Bill: Bison, Blue Cheese, Frank’s Hot Sauce, Apple-Smoked Bacon, Sassy Sauce

Primetime: Texas Akaushi Beef, Brie Cheese, Truffle Aioli, Arugula, Caramelized Onions,
Steak Sauce

Chocolate Stout Shake

yeah it was a shame they kept coming up to see if we needed anything because we didn’t even get to finish watching the game!
