{denver} prohibition eats

April 20, 2015

One night, we grabbed a quick early dinner at Prohibition. Set up as a local pub, there were certainly people there that were friendly with the staff. However, we were not one of those people. Nonetheless, we had a really awesome dinner. Essentially we chose this place because it was close to where we needed to go and it had decent reviews on Yelp.

We started the meal by sharing House Breaded Buffalo Mozzarella Bites with San Marzano Tomato Sauce. These fancy bit-size mozzarella sticks were delicious and the right temperature, which made dipping into the sauce just right. I think the best part about them though was that you could tell with each bite that the mozzarella was fresh! Then we decided to share the Braised Short Ribs served with Parmesan Polenta Cake and Bacon-Brussels Sprout Hash. This might have been the best dish I had in Denver. Not only were the braised short ribs fall off the bone tender, the polenta cake had just enough flavor that when dipped in the braising sauce the flavor just burst in your mouth. And since I love brussels sprouts, why would I ever complain if it’s cooked with bacon? If you’re ever in Denver, I would totally recommend this particular dish to try!
