{shenken} street view

May 2, 2015

While in Taiwan, I took a quick day trip to Shenken, located in New Taipei City, southeast of Downtown Taipei. Shenken is known for its old traditional street and its tofu.

This is part 1 of 3 about Skenken.

The day I went to Sheken it was rainy, which I think added positively to the effect of having an old cobblestone street lined with old brick buildings, polite hawkers trying to get you to buy their products, and traditional craftsmen engaging in their traditional crafts right along the street. Parts along the main road was covered so I didn’t have to drag around an open umbrella the entire time, which was a great positive. Besides, who doesn’t like visiting old villages that give you a hint of what it must of all looked like a hundred years ago?
