{sedona} bell rock + courthouse butte

May 30, 2015

I don’t think I’m going out of a limb saying that perhaps Bell Rock is the most famous of Sedona’s named red rocks. It sits south of the city right on the main road (Highway 179) and is almost like a “Welcome to Sedona!” sign. Having been to Sedona before, I’ve definitely been here before, too, and taken tons of pictures in front of this rock formation, but never, for some reason, have I hiked around in this area. Well, this time everything was different and I decided to hike this area. I didn’t get to go up onto the red rocks or anything, but it was nice to be able to get up close to both Bell Rock (on the left) and Courthouse Butte (on the right). My favorite part is how the trails are set up. Essentially they all connect so you can decide how long you want to hike (really, walk) and turn back at really any point. How considerate!
