{sedona} chapel in the rocks, revisited

I always love going over to Chapel of the Holy Cross when I’m Sedona because it’s just so beautiful! I’ve now visited this church twice and could still go back again and again. Chapel of the Holy Cross was designed by Marguerite Bruswig Staude. She was a student of the infamous Frank Lloyd Wright and clearly demonstrated her own abilities to integrate architecture into the surrounding landscape with this beauty of a building. It’s so perfect it’s as though the chapel grew out of the red rocks. The dark windows are the best because they reflect the red rocks behind the building so that each angle of the building is unique, beautiful, and reflects the natural beauty surrounding it.

When you go downstairs into the church basement where the store is located, you can’t help but realize that you’re actually inside the red rocks!
