{sf} old time ice cream

Happy Birthday Baba!

sisterposts-header

Hello everyone!

If you haven’t figured out already from reading my monthly post, I am a HUGE fan of ice cream and will pretty much take every chance I can get to enjoy some. A few weeks ago, I was up in the San Francisco Bay Area for a wedding, and got to go into SF and explore some of the Mission and Bernal Heights areas.  My friend and I took a stop at Mitchell’s ice cream.

Although Mitchell’s sells their ice cream at over 200 restaurants and grocery stores in and around SF, they only have one shop, which first opened its doors in 1953.  It’s definitely a neighborhood staple!

The storefront — doesn’t the place just look old-timey?

My cone — I got the chocolate caramel crackle flavor.

I wouldn’t say it was the most premium, specialty ice cream I’ve ever had, but I would probably go quite often if I lived in the area, and it was just what I needed on a warm day!

Forever enjoying ice cream,
Attrace
