{taipei} tamsui temple

September 22, 2015

While Tamsui is filled with a variety of highlights for locals and tourists alike, I especially like walking a little further along the main road and taking in area’s largest temple. This temple isn’t all that special in the sense that it looks similar to most that are in Taiwan, but I also enjoy the fact that these olden-day temples are always nestled along streets filled with modern buildings. It makes the contrast of the past and the present that much more prominent. That’s one of the aspects of Taiwan that really draw people to this island in the first place, the clear juxtaposition of past and present.
