[good reads] the m&m’s counting book

November 29, 2015

goodreads-mmcountingOne of my absolute favorite books is The m&m’s Counting Book by Barbara Barbieri McGrath. I love this book because it unites foundational math skills with my absolute love of chocolate m&ms. This is another one of those books that I end up reading over and over again in class because my students just love counting the chocolate m&ms. They think it’s so much fun and anything that makes counting things over and over again fun is worth a million bucks in my book!

The best part about this book though, is that you can then take your students love for counting and things made of chocolate and do about a million activities. Just the other day, we glued m&ms onto numbers to practice not only counting, but increasing our number sense. What a great book and gateway leading to more learning!
