{sf} pier 39

December 15, 2015

If you’re walking along the Embarcadero (headed north from the Ferry Building), you’ll eventually hit the infamous Pier 39. Pier 39 has become such a tourist attraction and it’s filled with tons of shops and restaurants, which are nice, of course, but not that interesting. Some of the stores are though that sell interesting San Francisco things like wall hangings or bags that specifically depict famous city scenes. The best part of Pier 39, though, is definately the fact that thousands of California sea lions have decided to call this place home. While I’ve never visited during the high season, even during the low season there are quite a few sea lions laying around enjoying the sun and trying to climb all over each other. It’s quite the funny sight if you stay long enough to watch the action.
