{sf} wood art

January 2, 2016

Even 10 years ago, Hayes Valley was not what it is today. And today, it’s quite the place to be! Hayes Valley happened to be one of the first places I got to explore at night in San Francisco. One evening, I happened upon a super interesting art installation in Hayes Valley and forced my friend to stop so that we could take a closer look! It turns out that this giant wood installation was created completely out of balsa wood, that super light and thin stuff you use to build things during science class. Anyway, wood was so intricately designed and cut to create a fabulous outdoor piece for everyone to enjoy. The best part is that it’s been written and signed all over, too, which adds to the effect that it’s the people’s piece we can interact with, rather than just something to be enjoyed from afar. I love stuff like this!
