[room 113a] science-ing it up

Recently, my class took a field trip to the California Academy of Sciences located in Golden Gate Park. We’ve been on so many field trips so far this year and there are still a few more to go! Anyway, this was a nice field trip because I feel like the students really got to see many animals and their habitats that they wouldn’t normally get to experience and/or talk about in school because there just isn’t enough time in the day! They were most mesmerized by the starfish touch tank and the Philippine Sea coral reef. I’m pretty sure if I hadn’t pushed them along (since we wanted to see as much as we had time for) they could have stared for an eternity. The San Francisco Earthquake exhibit was also pretty neat. I was super proud and pleasantly surprised that nobody became upset or scared during the earthquake simulator. What a success!
