{holly springs} historic homes

April 11, 2016

During my trip to Tennessee, I thought that it would be fun to drive on down to Mississippi since we were so close to the border (when in Memphis) anyway. It turned out that Mississippi is quite interesting. During my first stop in Mississippi, I visited the small town of Holly Springs, near Holly Springs Forest. This small town is a bit run down and it seemed that people weren’t that used to seeing individuals who weren’t Black or White. No matter, the reason for the stop over was to see some of the interesting historical homes that are in town. We took a self-guided walking tour and stopped by a number of them. I loved seeing the huge columns at the front of these homes and actually thinking about how long ago they were built!
