{slc} for the capitol

June 11, 2016

Visiting a state capitol building is always on my list of things to do because I feel like it’s the ultimate place to learn more about the history and present of a place and see how some of the people in the state think. Utah’s state capitol building is really quite impressive and we were just in time for their free hourly tour of the building. Our guide was very knowledgeable about all the different architectural choices, art pieces, and governmental branches within the building. It’s interesting to learn about the different paintings and sculptures and how they reflect Utah’s history and the values important to the people who started the state. My favorite part was definitely standing in the middle of the rotunda and seeing all the different pieces of that giant puzzle.
