{slc} bud’s plant sandwiches

I was surprised to find that Salt Lake City would have an all vegan sandwich place, especially one that was quite busy when we stopped by. According to their website, “Buds has been serving up flavor-packed sandwiches since 2012. We’re all about preparing it fresh, serving it fast, and keeping the focus on the food. From Barbacoa-grilled jackfruit to the Pesto Sub, our entirely plant-based menu features classic sandwiches with a twist. With fresh-cut vegetables and sauces that are prepared in-house daily, you’re sure to find a new favorite to make your own. Be sure to try one of our freshly baked zucchini chocolate-chip cookies for dessert.”

All of Buds’ sandwich options are created with 100% plant-based ingredients. This means that the chicken pesto sandwich I ordered didn’t really have any chicken meat in it at all. I was a little torn about this sandwich shop though because while the flavors of the sandwiches themselves were quite good, I guess I’m just not a fan of V-chicken, the texture and taste of the plant-based “meat” was just not good to me … guess I wouldn’t survive as a vegan!
