{sf} sushi or a burrito or both?

July 4, 2016

Recently I’ve been hearing a lot about sushi/burrito things that are supposed to be the ultimate fusion food. Imagine a giant sushi that’s wrapped burrito-style. Instead of a tortilla, it’s wrapped with seaweed and rice. Inside, there’s any combination of vegetables, fish, meat, etc. The best part though might be the Asian-style guacamole topping.

While other cities have their own versions, in San Francisco we have Sushirrito. When my sister was in town recently, we decided to give this place a try. We absolutely did not expect to have to wait in a line that went down the block! It went relatively quickly though and half an hour later, we were out of the rain and inside enjoying delicious Japanese-Latin fusion food. Yum!

How it’s made

Sumo Crunch • Shrimp Tempura, Surimi Crab, Shaved Cabbage, Cucumber, Ginger Guac, Red Tempura Flakes, Sriracha Aioli

Buddha Belly • Spicy Japanese Eggplant, Portobello Mushroom Fries, Shaved Cabbage, Julienne Carrots, Ginger Guac, Kale, Roasted Garlic Tofu Sauce

Geisha’s Kiss • Yellowfish Tuna, Tamago, Piquillo Peppers, Lotus Chips, Namasu Cucumber, Green Leaf Lettuce, Ginger Guac, Yuzu Tobiko, Sesame White Soya
