{penang} sights atop penang hill

August 1, 2016

Once you get to the top of Penang Hill (most likely via the fast and fancy funicular train), there’s so much to see! My Malaysian friend and I spent about 2/3 of the day exploring the Hill and everything it had to offer. We even ended up getting a bit lost while wandering the various hiking trails especially because the maps here are horrible!

Among other things, we hiked through the forest and heard many different types of birds, watched some monkeys monkey around in the trees, marveled at the giant oyster and pearl (because Penang is considered the Pearl of the Orient), browsed all the locks couples have left behind, and enjoyed the wonderful view of Penang island from all the way up here!
