{penang} temple atop penang hill

August 2, 2016

One of the biggest attractions at the top of Penang Hill is a large Hindu temple. Sri Aruloli Thirumurugan Temple is located not far from the top funicular train stop which my friend and I along with hundreds of other visitors took to the top of Penang Hill. Sri Aruloli Thirumurugan Temple is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Penang. While it started off as a small shrine built for the Hindu deity Murugan, it is now a large elaborate building decorated in South Indian style. Talk about being ornate and elaborate!
