{harbin} ice sculptures

November 2, 2016

We did not visit Harbin during the winter. So, there weren’t any street ice sculptures. However, there was an ice sculpture art gallery in another one of Harbin’s tourist trap, Sun Island. They keep the temperature inside the gallery well below freezing to preserve the ice sculptures. You definitely need a heavy coat to go in. No winter coat, no problem. You can rent a winter coat at the entrance.

I touched a yellow flower paddle, and got a handful of yellow dye. The color must have been sprayed on, after the ice sculpting work was completed.
