[room 209m] week twenty three rosa parks

January 26, 2017

After learning about Martin Luther King Jr., my class learned about Rosa Parks. In an effort to prepare for our school’s African American Heritage Celebration at the end of February, we are learning about 6 different important African American minds to fit the theme Black Minds Matter. Even though all of my students struggle with learning, they have been doing an awesome job with this difficult unit, especially pointing out why each of the individuals are important to our history For Rosa Parks, they said that she was important because she wanted everyone to be equal, because she said, “no”, and because she wanted to help people ride the buses.
