{paris} french voyage day 3

March 7, 2017

My third day in Paris was actually back in Paris (after a day trip the day before to Versailles). This day was spent wandering around the Louvre for hours upon hours but still not seeing all of it, being completely mesmerized by the 1,113 stained glass Bible story windows of Sainte-Chapelle, and waiting in line (forever) but finally get a chance to see Notre Dame de Paris in real life!

Walking around the Louvre is such an experience because the place is absolutely ginormous but you actually get to see some of the most famous art pieces in the world created throughout history. I still can’t believe I was within feet/sometimes inches of the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, Winged Victory of Samothrace, various other Michelangelo sculptures, the Black Madonna, Eugène Delacroix’s Liberty Leading the People, and the Great Sphinx of Tanis among many, many more. It’s also the setting of The DaVinci Code, which makes it that much cooler!
