{sf} not really a palace for fine arts

The San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts is one of those iconic places that you always see pictures of when you look up “Things to Do” or “Places to Visit” in San Francisco. It took me almost two years, but I finally made it over here to the Presidio to check this place out! I always thought it was a museum or something, but it turns out it isn’t! It’s more like an open-air theater that you can walk around when there aren’t artists performing.

It was originally built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition to exhibit works of art. What’s amazing is that it’s still there, even though it’s not really the original since after the big earthquake it was essentially rebuilt. I think the lagoon with its turtles and swans are the prettiest part!
